OCULENZ has a patent pending USPTO application for eye-tracking as utilized in Augmented Reality headwear. The OCULENZ eye-tracking is used in the Medical Application of the OCULENZ glasses, as well as for industry and commercial application solutions. The Eye-Tracking subsystem works through hardware and software to ensure that the image of the computer-mediated video information is directed to the appropriate position on the lenses where the eyes are gazing. The Eye-Tracking is useful, not only for positioning of the video images, but to monitor fatigue of the wearer, or to alert in the instance that an OCULENZ wearer is intoxicated or under the influence of drugs. This can be helpful to alert corporate management concerning potential hazards in settings like an assembly line.
The OCULENZ Eye-Tracking subsystem works with the ARwear’s CPU/GPU and video and projection devices. The positions of the eye are captured by infrared (IR) light being projected onto the eye, and a reverse camera tracking the glint reflection from the IR lighting.
